Seasons Taiwanese Eatery is a family run restaurant in Honolulu's Chinatown. They serve great Taiwanese dishes like beef noodle soup, braised eggs, and popcorn chicken. Open for lunch and dinner.

Craving Taiwanese food? This is the spot to go.
Seasons Taiwanese Eatery has a robust menu of all the Taiwanese classics. It done well and people love this spot.
You'll see plenty of solo diners, co-workers having a quick lunch, families, and even big groups (thankfully this new location has lots of seating).
Get a bowl of noodle soup each and share a bunch of side dishes like popcorn chicken, dumplings, braised tofu, meats, and egg. You can't go wrong ^_^
Location
Seasons Taiwanese Eatery is located at Chinatown Cultural Plaza.
Chinatown Cultural Plaza is a large open building in Honolulu's Chinatown. It's a multi use building so you'll find everything from travel agencies, insurance companies, newspaper and candy shops, restaurants, dim sum, and produce markets...all in the same building!
We use to visit Chinatown Cultural Plaza at least once a week for something. Lunch, dinner, meeting, dim sum, get newspaper with grandpa, etc.
Back in the 90s this was the hub for Honolulu Chinatown. It's gotten much quieter since, but like many older Hawaii neighborhoods, it's slowly getting a revival. I'm excited!
What To Get
Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken
Popcorn chicken! Best thing on the menu here.
I love the fried basil and how much they use. It's crisp and delicate. I make sure to get plenty of basil with every piece of chicken
Dark meat chicken. Super juicy. Be careful when you bite, it is hot. And spices! So many spices. Pick mild or spicy.
They have two sizes. Pictured above is the large. Good for 2-3 people to share.
Beef Noodle Soup
This is their signature dish and nearly every diner at the restaurant had a bowl.
Pick classic or spicy. We tried both and I definitely prefer the spicy. Don't worry, it was not too spicy. Photo above is spicy version. Photo below is the classic version
For meat, select beef (I believe it's beef shank), tendon, or combo. Get the combo so you can try both.
The soup featured hearty wheat noodles (the noodles are different from the ones served at their original location but still great), a generous portion of meat, and lots of cilantro and scallions, and housemade pickled mustard greens.
So good and satisfying! Really hits the spot when you're craving a big bowl of noodle soup.
Other dishes on my try-next-visit list:
Dumplings! I saw the housemade boiled dumplings on many other tables and they looked GOOD.
Cold Tofu with Thousand Year Egg - it sounds very similar to this century egg dish that we make at home.
Braised egg, braised tofu - I love any sort of braised dish ^_^
When To Go
The restaurant gets pretty busy during prime lunch hour (about 11:30am - 12:30pm), but you can usually get a table. The original location was a lot smaller, there is much more seating at this new location!
Many people working nearby seem to come for lunch takeout as well.
Insider Tips and Notes
- Park at Chinatown Cultural Plaza. No validation needed. We paid $1 for the first hour, and $1 for every additional 30 minutes after.
- There's lot of other good stuff within walking distance. For a post-lunch coffee, stop by Drip Studio HNL and/or Po’ai by Pono Potions.
- Their dinner menu features many popular dishes that we love to cook at home. Like stir fried ong choy? Make it at home! Same goes for the tomato fried eggs.
