Hooray for Kimbap Plus! This new kimbap and bibimbap shop opened in early 2025. Kimbap is made to order, super fresh! It has quickly become a local favorite. I come at least once a week. Delicious and convenient takeout. Really fair prices ^_^

Kimbap Plus is a true one-woman operation.
Sunny is the owner, the cook, the cashier...the everything! She is super kind and no matter how busy she gets, she gets everything done with such grace.
This is a tiny shop. Takeout only.
The store can hold Sunny plus 2-3 customers max. There's a tiny table with two seats inside. Those seats are just for when you're waiting for your order.
Menu
The main thing everyone orders here? Kimbap! Every kimbap is made to order, super fresh and super delicious. Pictured above is the menu. The kimbap options (all $7.99) are listed on the left:
I rotate between the gobo, tuna mayo, and fire tuna (aka spicy tuna). I keep meaning to try the other four options, but those three are just so tasty.
Kimbap Options
Above is the gobo kimbap. Great vegetarian option. I love how Sunny is generous with the filling, so many veggies packed in there.
And here is the tuna mayo kimbap. Always with cheese, of course. Classic! You know how much we love tuna mayo everything.
If you want a little heat, order the spicy tuna kimbap. It is definitely spicy. And she even tops off the end of this roll with diced jalapeños.
Don't Forget Bibimbap!
The menu also has mandoo, sandwiches, acai bowls, and smoothies, but I haven't tried those yet. I've seen someone order the acai bowl and that looked pretty good. Mandoo also seems to be popular. Kimbap though, is the thing to get...along with Sunny's bibimbap!
The bibimbap is a sleeper hit. Kimbap gets all the attention but the bibimbap delicious. Comes with a sunny side up egg. Gochujang in a little container on the side. Spoon it in, mix and eat.
And Spam Musubi!
And if you come at the right time (usually around 10-11am window), there might be some spam musubi!! The musubi is made for grab-and-go (versus kimbap and bibimbap which is made to order). Good option if you're in a rush.
Sunny makes regular spam musubi and spicy spam musubi. The spicy is really spicy, so order that only if you're ready for the heat. It's not just the spam that's spicy. The rice is also spicy! Real good.
She mixes sesame seeds, nori, and green onions with the rice. So much detail. I'm excited to try that next time I make musubi at home.
Kimbap, On The Go!
Sunny packs each kimbap order nicely with chopsticks and napkins and in a sturdy bag. Makes it easy for takeout whether you're bringing it home or meeting with a friend for lunch.
Steph and I met up at Ando Cafe in Kailua the other week and had the kimbap with matcha and hojicha lattes, happy lunch break ^_^
Useful Tips
Go on the early side.
Sunny gets really busy during the 11am-1pm lunch hours, and you can expect a wait of 30 minutes.
If you can't go on the early side, call in you order.
Call (808) 392-2363 to place a pre-order. No matter how small your order, I always like to place a pre-order! Saves a lot of time.
And if you call in your order, call it in early!
Even if you plan to pick up later, you should still call in your order early. Sunny doesn't pick up the phone when she gets busy during the lunch hours.
Lots of free parking.
Located right in front of the store.
