I learned this recipe for Black Sesame, Walnut, and Pine Nut Blend from a family friend. Not only is it delicious, she said it's also good for your skin! Take a spoonful each day with a drizzle of honey ^_^

This recipe is from my mom's friend!
She has super nice skin and said the "secret" is this simple sesame and nut blend. She eat a spoonful a day (with a little honey) and feels that it helps keep her skin smooth and plump.
I think of that as an extra perk, but I was really into this recipe because it has black sesame seeds...and you know how much I love black sesame seeds ^_^
Ingredients

Here's what you'll need:
- Walnuts - unsalted and raw
- Black Sesame Seeds
- Pine Nuts - unsalted and raw
- Honey - optional
A few notes from the friend: organic if possible, make sure the nuts are unsalted and raw, and try to use local honey.

I got the walnuts and pine nuts from Costco Hawaii. The honey is a local brand called Big Island Bees - I also purchased it from Costco.
I ordered black sesame seeds online from The Japanese Pantry. I go through a lot* of black sesame seeds at home so I purchase it by the 1 kilogram bag.
*I use black sesame seeds to make everything from black sesame pudding, soy milk, sweet soup, paste, tofu, noodles, toast, and a layered soy milk pudding.
Instructions

Let's get blending!
Use a food processor to grind then three main ingredients in order of size. Go from big to small (walnuts, pine nuts, black sesame seeds).
In a small food processor, add the walnuts first and grind for about 10 seconds.

This is how the walnuts should look after 10 seconds.

Then add the pine nuts to the food processor and grind for another 10 seconds.

This is how the walnuts + pine nuts should look together after 10 seconds.

Finally add the black sesame seeds and grind for another 10 seconds.

Looks awesome, right? The mixture should be nicely ground, coarse, and gritty.
Make sure you don't grind the mixture to a paste. Blending it for too long can heat the oils in the nuts which we don't want for this recipe.

How to eat this? Take a tablespoon of the blend and top it with a little honey. The honey is optional, but supposed to be helpful for moisture retention.
Make sure to chew it well. The friend noted that taking it at night seems to be more helpful based on her experience. Eat and enjoy ^_^
FAQ / Useful Tips

Yes! Just stick to the below ratio of ingredients:
2 parts walnuts: 2 parts black sesame seeds: 1 part pine nuts
Place it in a sealed container and store it in the refrigerator. It'll keep for up to two weeks. I store the blend in these containers (pictured above), but any container that seals will work.
Yes, yes, yes ^_^
